MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Delta Air Lines plans to expand its service between Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Los Angeles to seven-day service on April 8 and add a second flight to Orlando, Fla., and launch service to Tampa, Fla., on March 2, officials said Wednesday.

“RDU welcomes Delta’s new service additions,” Teresa Damiano, RDU deputy airport director of marketing and customer relations, said in a statement. “We have known for some time that our market could support daily service to Los Angeles and support Delta’s decision to upgrade this service. Tampa and Orlando have always been popular destinations for our passengers for both business and leisure reasons.”

The flight to Los Angeles will depart RDU at 7 a.m. and arrive at 9:30 a.m. Pacific time. It will return via an overnight flight departing Los Angeles at 10:30 p.m. Pacific time and arriving at RDU at 6:10 a.m.
