Delays expected along Cary Parkway

Posted June 22, 2009

— Motorists can expect delays along Southwest Cary Parkway through Saturday due to a pavement rehabilitation project.

The project is taking place between Old Apex Road and Two Creeks Road/Kilarney Drive. Between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., motorists can expect periodic lane closures and traffic shifts.

One lane in each direction will remain open at all time.

Left-hand turns will be restricted Tuesday through Thursday at King George Loop, Colonial Townes Court, Glenbuckley Road and Applecross Drive. Left turns will also be restricted Friday and Saturday at Dundalk Way and Tabert Drive.

kikinc, I hear you about Davis Drive. I can't wait for them to finish it because I live on Cary Parkway but go to Morrisville several times a week, so I'm dealing with construction delays on both roads. At least they finally finished that mess right by Church street and Aviation Parkway. The detour around it took 15 minutes.

I'm still waiting for Davis Drive to be finished. My commute is miserable.

I wish they would just finish ONE road in Cary at a time. The "project" to widen Kildaire Farm Rd has been going on forever and is STILL going. Put all the crews on one project- finish it and move on to the next. The way it is now, it's just one construction zone after another all over the place.

"Pavement rehabilitation project"--Euphemism for ripping up the pavement and laying it back down.
