Defense Secretary Hagel to visit Bragg, Lejeune

Posted July 12, 2013

— Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel will visit Fort Bragg on Monday to join a town-hall style meeting to discuss the readiness of the military and the effects of federal budget cuts.

Post officials said Hagel will meet with uniformed service members, their families, wounded warriors and civilian employees during the meeting, which will also include a discussion about furloughs. Hagel’s visit will include a tour of the Fort Bragg Soldier and Family Assistance Center and a demonstration of readiness equipment.

The visit to Fort Bragg is part of a three-day trip that includes stops at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Fla., the Joint Base in Charleston, S.C., and Camp Lejeune.

Hagel, a former U.S. senator from Nebraska, was sworn in as defense secretary in February.

Maybe they can discuss the first fulough in history and the lowest pay raise for active duty in 75 years. All this while our soldiers are in harms way.
Maybe he also could bring up why he let 2 navy SEALS and an American Ambassador die?

He needs to be asked about hazardous duty pay!! Doing away with that is a travesty towards our men and women in uniform!!

He will follow the Obama line-he will be the weakest Sec of Defense in history!!
