NORLINA, N.C. — Warren County deputies say they are investigating the death of a man in a Norlina home as a homicide.

Sheriff Johnny Williams said deputies were called to a home on U.S. Highway 1 around 1 p.m. Saturday regarding a domestic disturbance, but they found a dead man when they arrived.

Tyrie Gonzalez, 31, was charged with voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Alton Harris, 22, of South Hill, Va. He was being held in the Warren County jail under a $250,000 bond.

Williams said Gonzalez and Harris knew each other and that, when Gonzalez arrived home to find Harris there, he shot him.

No other information was released.
