Deaf students get safety lessons from OPD first responders
Some first responders helped some kids and teens understand they are not that different Friday afternoon.
Posted — UpdatedThe Omaha Police Department flew the police helicopter to the Iowa School for the Deaf.
It's all part of their summer program called "First Responders."
The main focus was for them to learn how to interact with emergency personnel if you happen to be deaf.
"Really, so far the CPR, and how to do compressions to save a person's life has really benefited me. I feel like in a real life way because if I encounter that situation, I will know what to do," said Jada Bushman, who will attend the school this fall.
The children also got a tour of the helicopter and how police use it.
