Deadline Looms for Apex Shepherd

Posted May 4, 2007

— Friday is the deadline for an Apex man who owns dozens of sheep to turn in repair plans and estimates for his home.

In April, the town of Apex condemned David Watts' house after they confiscated the sheep.

According to his attorney, Watts started some minor repairs on his own. They include repairs to the ceiling and roof as well as replacing leaky pipes.

The guy has a couple of acres adjacent to me off hw 55. He dumped over 100 pallets there five years ago.

Now that the animals are gone and safe, I don't care what kind of mess this guy lives in. I know that's not very Christian of me, but I have no tolerance for those who mistreat animals.

    God bless.

With lots of land in other counties, I bet he's sorry he didn't just get the flock out of Apex to begin with.

He IS a developer...and he has lots of land...in at least 3 counties...as in hundreds of acres...

  • normalthinking May 4, 2007

I think the city of Apex or maybe some developer wants his land

I understand what you are saying about them follwing his every move, but I have had business dealings with him and in my experience, he is quite the con artist. If he hasn't broken many more laws than just these, then he is skirting the edge. There is a lot more to this guy's story than meets the eye.

I guess they are trying to get him to commit to repairs in time for Peak Week. Glad WRAL is not tracking the progress of MY honey-do list. BTW, I am not saying to leave this man alone, but a blow-by-blow description of every nail this guy hammers or pipe he wraps duct tape around is really unnecessary.
