Deadline coming up for Carolina Inn's gingerbread house competition

There's plenty of time to imagine the award-winning gingerbread house that you might create for The Carolina Inn's 13 annual Gingerbread House Competition, but there's not a lot of time left to register.

Registration forms are due Nov. 23. Entries will be accepted from individuals or groups of up to five members. Participants have until 9 a.m. to noon, Dec. 1, to actually drop their sugary masterpieces off. There are separate categories for kids ages 14 and younger and adults ages 15 and older.

The event is part of the hotel's annual 12 Days of Christmas celebration, which includes meals with Santa, special teas and more. The winners will be announced at 4 p.m., Dec. 28. The houses will be on display through Jan. 3.
