RALEIGH, N.C. — Dave Matthews Band will stop in Raleigh during their 2014 summer tour, concert promoter Live Nation announced Tuesday.
"A Very Special Evening with Dave Matthews Band" will play the Walnut Creek Amphitheatre on July 23. On the tour, the band will play two sets per night. Set lists will span the band's career and include everything from electric to acoustic versions of their hits. Dave Matthews and guitarist Tim Reynolds will even take some time to perfect as an acoustic duo during the show.

"I was talking to (DMB drummer) Carter about how much I still like just sitting around playing music together. It's how we started – in the basements of Carter's and my mom's houses," Matthews said in a press release. "Our shows are loose, but we started thinking that maybe this summer we should make them looser and bring some of that feeling to the stage. It seems like the opposite of a safe plan, so why not?"

The tour kicks off May 16 in Texas. DMB will play Charlotte's PNC Music Pavilion on July 22.

Tickets for the North Carolina shows go on sale Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. through Live Nation, Ticketmaster and all venue box offices.

DMB Warehouse Fan Association members can purchase tickets starting Thursday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. Citi cardholders will be able to purchase tickets starting Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. through the card's Private Pass program.
