There are a couple of months before registration begins for the second Children's Business Fair at Park West Village, but it's something kids and parents will want to get a jump on if they plan on participating.
Two local moms - Monica Goodson and Rupal Nishar - were behind the first one at the Morrisville shopping center in August. The farmers' market-like fair features businesses owned by kids, ages 6 to 14.
"My reason for bringing the business fair to the area is to give budding young entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their ideas, inventions, goods and services in a safe forum," Goodson told me this summer. "I am a strong believer and supporter of exposing children to entrepreneurship at a young age."
A similar fair also was held at Raleigh's North Hills in September.
The 2017 fair at Park West Village is Aug. 19. Applications for the limited number of spots open May 1. The event's website has more information.
