Dan Zanes added to art museum's summer concert series

Posted April 17, 2014

Dan Zanes, the Grammy-winning musician and one of the country's top family entertainers, will play a family show at the N.C. Museum of Art this summer.

Dan Zanes and Friends will perform July 19 as part of the museum's popular outdoor summer concert series.

Zanes, a former member of the 1980s rock band The Del Fuegos, is known for his folksy, fun take on classic American songs and original tunes that pull in the sounds and rhythms of American and world music. We love his "House Party" album at my house. In  2007, he won a Grammy award for Best Musical Album for Children.

This is at least his third and maybe fourth or fifth time playing here. Tickets are $20 ($15 for members) and $10 for kids ages 3 to 12. Kids 2 and under are admitted for free. The show starts at 6 p.m.; doors open at 4:30 p.m., July 19. It'll be a good one!
