A damaged utility pole caused traffic delays along Atlantic Avenue in Raleigh during Tuesday's morning commute.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A damaged utility pole caused traffic delays along Atlantic Avenue in Raleigh during Tuesday’s morning commute.

Raleigh police closed Atlantic Avenue in both directions between Hodges Street and Whitaker Mill Road while crews worked to fix the pole, which was leaning into the roadway.

Police said a driver hit the pole and took off.
