Congrats on your free Kindle, Vlynn! Great job.

I picked up a good deal on a Kindle Fire 7 for DW for Christmas for $35.

Thanks Mothar, GranofTwenty, and Faye for the info on Bookbub, HCW's list, and the libraries.

  • GranOFTwenty Nov 30, 2015

VLYNN - some links and you may want to call/email the library at NC State ( or the UNC system for info ) . ( this one is new to me - checking it out after supper )

  • vlynn Nov 30, 2015

Faye, I just checked out the hotcouponworld site and they do have a listing of freebie books, so even though I'm not on facebook I can check them out.
Granoftwenty, thanks for the library info. I knew they had e-books, but didn't realize they offered access to the other stuff. I also want to find out if I can get a library card at NC State to get access to their stuff.

VLYNN - NICE deal on the kindle !
Check with you local county library - you can "borrow " ebooks ! They will expire just like traditional library books do ; they even have access to newspapers from across the state and books/magazines from community colleges and universities as well.

vlynn - you may want to get on HotCouponWorld's Facebook page as well. They post tons of free kindle books every week. I'm sure you can get the info from their website as well if you are not on FB.

Mothar1 re bookbub: I've used it for a while now to find free e-books that I read on a tablet. I've wanted to switch to a kindle for less eye strain, but kept waiting for the right price.

  • mothar1 Nov 30, 2015

Vlynn, congrats on the kindle! Bookbub is a great site for free or reduced ebooks, you can sign up for the type of books you like, then they send you an email every day, and when you click on the title you're interested in, it takes you right to amazon. It's wonderful!

vlynn - great deal on the Kindle! Thanks for sharing!

thelibertinefiles - I hope you have a wonderful, judgement-free holiday filled with family and friends. And since you are tuned in to donating to charities, I highly recommend donating to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC. They could certainly use your monetary and food donations. Many of the folks posting about their deals will also be donating to the food bank this weekend during the food drive we are hosting at an event in Raleigh. It feels great to give to those in need AND to be able to find good deals on gifts our loved ones will enjoy this holiday. Balance is a good thing. :-)

Here's the website for the food bank. You can donate online today.

How about everyone take a break from buying junk they don't need? If that money is burning in your pocket, then how about giving to charity or tithing?

Way to go Vlynn!! Super good deal ;)
