CVS is ending the Green Bag Tag program

Sad news: CVS is ending the Green Bag Tag program that gives you Extrabucks rewards when you bring your own bags.

With the Green Bag Tag program, you bring your own bags to have them bag the products you are buying, have them scan your Green Bag Tag card and then get a $1 Extrabucks reward after every 4th scan.

If you already have a bag tag, you'll still be able to use it for a few more months, but the program will be ending this year.

Apparently, the Green Bag Tags are no longer available to purchase at the stores so unless you already have one, you can't take advantage of this program.

I am definitely sad to see this program end. According to my last CVS receipt, I have had my bag tag scanned 250 times since I have had it which equals $62 in Extrabucks Rewards because I bring my own bags.

WHY is the program ending?? I just got a bag a month ago and use it whenever I don't forget it in my car. I'm in the store probably 4x/week. What's the deal? Doesn't CVS WANT to be "Green?"

I didn't think you were,Nakabi. :-) That's the nice thing about knowing you personally in real life. I know you wouldn't hassle me about something like this.

I was just sorry I got you all excited about it only to have it yanked out from under you the very next day. That's the joy of couponing these days - always in flux.

This is indeed sad :( My poor bag tag looks worn as I have used it so often! I don't know my tally on ECB's earned on it but it has to be way up there! I never go in without a bag to CVS.
