Cumberland Sheriff's Office announces staff changes
The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is getting a new chief deputy and chief jailer.
Posted — UpdatedMaj. Ennis Wright is taking the title starting Feb. 1. He replaces Chief Deputy Paul Hinson, who is retiring after 17 years with the department.
Hinson “has been more than a co-worker. He has been a true friend, confidant and leader,” Sheriff Earl “Moose” Butler said in a statement Thursday. “All of us at the Sheriff’s Office, and particularly I, as sheriff, will miss him.”
The vacant major position will be filled by Assistant Services Commander Myra Watson.
The Sheriff’s Office also announced a new chief jailer Thursday for the Cumberland County Detention Center. Maj. Larry Trotter replaces John McRainey, who died in October.
