Cumberland man accused of stabbing puppy arrested

Posted January 5, 2012

— Authorities have arrested a Cumberland County man accused of stabbing a pit bull puppy during a domestic dispute almost a year ago.

Cory Lashan Price, 27, of 2210 Caramel Drive, was arrested Wednesday at his home and released on bond.

Deputies said Price was arguing with his girlfriend last January when she told him to leave. Price then grabbed their 8-week-old puppy as he walked out the door, tossed it in the air and impaled it in the side with a knife, authorities said.

Cumberland County Animal Control officers later found the puppy hiding under the back steps to the home. It had to be euthanized because of its extensive injuries.

Unfortunatly all he is going to get is a slap on the wrist..He deserves to be punished to the fullest. This is why animals turn on humans because of people like this guy treating them bad. :( Poor puppy

This man is sadistic and deserves to be punished.

Put him on an island and let him be hunted! He is a coward and only when put in the same position as that vulnerable and defenseless puppy will he understand the true crime he committed.

Oh My GOD!!! How cruel can this person be? WRAL would not print what I would like to say about this... Hope he thinks about "What goes around, comes around!"

It's not his fault.....it's societies fault.

What kind of person can do such sick things to any breathing creature? What a heartless sorry excuse of a man.

  • REALY Jan 6, 2012

"why are we more passionate about dogs than people? i don't want any dog to be mistreated, but society needs to wake up and see where we are going..."

because they are one of GODS most inocent creatures..

My heart weeps reading things like this. What a peice of trash the accused is to harm an innocent animal. I hope they throw the book at him, them pick it up and beat him with it til HIS final outcome is euthanasia. If he could do that to a defenseless animal, he could do that to a human.

Sick animals need be put down. I don't mean the puppy.

I'm amazed this isn't the top story of all the news in the world. This is WRAL's sweet tooth in a story.
