— Two Cumberland County school employees were involved in a collision Wednesday afternoon in Stedman.

Kenneth Earl Hancock Jr., an assistant principal at Reid Ross Classical School, was killed when his motorcycle hit a truck driven by Sandra Autry Wrench, a secretary at Stedman Elementary School.

According to the state Highway Patrol, Hancock swerved into Wrench's lane and the two vehicles collided head-on. Hancock was killed instantly.

Wrench was treated for minor injuries.

Hancock, a former member of the staff at Terry Sanford High School, started work at Ross July 21.

A school spokeswoman said the Terry Sanford football team would dedicate Friday's game to Hancock's memory.

I am so very sorry for Donna and the boys. Donna was an assistant principal at CF when I was a student there and both Brad and Johnny were there at some point while I was. This is truly a tragedy and I hope that the family is able to recover. God Bless the family.

My son had Mr Hancock for Civics while he taught at Cape Fear High School. Mr. Hancock was a super nice fellow.
What an awful tragedy to such a kind family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hancocks.

My family's condolences to Mrs. Hancock. We'd only know Mr. Hancock since the beginning of the school year but he was very pleasant and helpful. Prayers also to Ms. Wrench. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers.
