Cumberland detectives seek person of interest in shooting
Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives want to talk to Preston Paul Evans, Jr., 37, of 1104 Cypress Lakes Road, about a shooting in Hope Mills.
Posted — UpdatedHOPE MILLS, N.C. — Cumberland County Sheriff’s Detectives want to talk to Preston Paul Evans, Jr., 37, of 1104 Cypress Lakes Road, about a shooting in Hope Mills.
Detectives said Evans might have information about the murder of Matthew Scott, 25, of 5813 Ajax Drive.
Scott was shot at his home on March 31 and later died at a local hospital.
Detectives described Evans as a black man with black dreadlocks and brown eyes. He is about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 210 pounds.
Authorities asked that anyone with information about his whereabouts contact the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-323-1500 or to leave anonymous information at 910-484-TIPS (8477).
