Cumberland County wreck leaves one dead
A Fayetteville man died Sunday night after crashing his car into an embankment on Cliffdale Road near Lynhurst Drive, authorities with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department said.
Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man died Sunday night after crashing his car into an embankment on Cliffdale Road near Lynhurst Drive, authorities with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department said.
Investigators say Daniel Ortiz, 28, lost control of his vehicle while traveling eastbound on Cliffdale Road just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Ortiz crossed the center line, over corrected and struck an embankment along the westbound side of Cliffdale Road before stopping.
Investigators say Ortiz was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck. No other vehicles were involved.
