Cumberland County Schools announce early dismissal for solar eclipse for some schools

Cumberland County Schools on Thursday announced that classes would be cut short on Monday as a result of the solar eclipse.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Cumberland County Schools on Thursday announced that classes would be cut short for several schools on Monday due to the solar eclipse.

Cumberland Polytechnic High School, Reid Ross Classical School, Anne Chesnutt Middle School, and E.E. Miller Elementary School will release students at 1 p.m.

Cumberland International Early College High School, Cross Creek Early College High School, and A.B. Wilkins High School will release students at their regular times.

District officials said Afternoon Primetime at E.E. Miller Elementary School will be canceled Monday and all athletic practices will begin at 5 p.m.
