CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — The Cumberland County Health Department is testing a small number of people for possible exposure to tuberculosis (TB).

One suspected case of TB was identified in a person who works at a restaurant, said Buck Wilson, county health director. He did not identify the person or the restaurant.

“While it is important for the community to be aware of this exposure, a relatively small number
of people are likely to have been exposed, and no one is in immediate risk of any health

problems,” Wilson said.

The health department has contacted 31 people who may have been exposed to provide testing and treatment as necessary.
