Cumberland authorities investigating possible murder-suicide

Cumberland County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating a suspected murder-suicide that occurred early Thursday morning in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating a suspected murder-suicide that occurred early Thursday morning.

Investigators say Allisha Michelle Cherry, 23, of 4379 Spinel Drive, was discovered in a bedroom at a residence on the 600 block of Hollins Street in Fayetteville around 5 a.m.

Shortly after, police responded to a shooting along Doc Bennett Road on a bridge over Interstate 95, where a man's body was discovered. He has been identified as Brandon Coleman, 23, of 610 Hollins St.

No other information was released, but authorities said the incident is still under investigation.
