Cumberland authorities investigate abuse of dog
Cumberland County authorities on Friday were investigating a case of dog abuse.
Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County authorities on Friday were investigating a case of dog abuse.
A veterinarian at Highland Animal Hospital contacted the sheriff's office Thursday after a German shepherd-mix dog was brought in because it wasn't eating properly.
The vet said X-rays and an MRI revealed the dog had internal injuries from repeated abuse.
The dog underwent surgery and is expected to recover.
No charges have been filed in the case.
