RALEIGH, N.C. — Hundreds of people in Raleigh pounded the pavement Sunday to fight hunger.

Every year, more than a million people nationwide take part in the Crop Hunger Walk to raise awareness about hunger.

Last year, volunteers raised more than $37,000 to fight hunger.

Proceeds from Sunday's event support food bank programs in the Triangle, the United States and other countries.
