CURRITUCK, N.C. — Crews have suspended the search for a boater who was last seen Saturday in Currituck Sound.

Officials with the North Carolina Coast Guard received notification around 6:30 p.m. Saturday that an un-manned 19-foot skiff was circling near the entrance to Tulls Bay in Currituck Sound near Knotts Island.

According to crews, the 45-year-old man missing from the boat was last seen by his sister from a different boat. Authorities said he was not wearing a life jacket.

The Coast Guard suspended their search for the man at about 6 p.m. Sunday.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the missing man's family tonight," said Chief Petty Officer Seth Haynes.
