Crews respond to Fayetteville apartment fire

Emergency crews responded to a fire at Highlander Place Apartments, 522 Northumberland St. in Fayetteville, Friday afternoon.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Emergency crews responded to a fire at Highlander Place Apartments, 522 Northumberland St. in Fayetteville, Friday afternoon.

Units on the third flood were destroyed, and first- and second-floor units suffered serious damage in the fire, which happened around 2:15 p.m., according to officials. No one was injured.

Resident Joshua Dillard says his unit was destroyed.

"Everything I have is gone. (But) God is good," he said.

The cause of the fire is unknown. No other information was available.
