Crews cleaning spill on Halifax County roads

— Crews were trying to clean up a flammable liquid off a 15-mile stretch of roads in Halifax County early Wednesday.

Authorities received a call around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday about a tanker truck leaking a liquid. Deputies eventually got the driver to stop on Highway 158.

Authorities found puddles of the the substance throughout Roanoke Rapids and on the highway.

    Resin used at the Georgia Pacific Plant to make plywood is what was spilled.

    the guy from the fire dept. that i talked to last night said it was diesel fuel... but it did not smell like it..

    There was a lot of sand on the road in the Jackson area on hwy 158. Does anyone know what was spilled?

    Actually from Conway to Davie School west of Roanoke Rapids on US 158. Beware of sandy spots.
