Crews battle fire at Raleigh apartment's clubhouse

Posted November 9, 2010

— Emergency crews battled a fire at a Raleigh apartment's clubhouse at 6317 Shanda Drive Tuesday morning, according to police.

No one was injured, and the units at Woods at North Bend were not touched, according to authorities. Residents said they saw flames raging from the clubhouse at about 4:15 a.m.

It's unclear what caused the fire.

Authorities responded to another fire at the apartment complex in June 2009. Investigators determined that improperly discarded smoking material caused that blaze.

A quarter of the building sustained significant fire and smoke damage. No one was injured.

In July 2008, a fire left 16 units uninhabitable. Fire officials also deemed that blaze an accident.

This is our third fire:the 1st fire was due carelessness and 10 units were lost. it was very hot that summer. My husband and I had smoke and water damage and the leasing harrased us about letting us moved into another apt. 2nd fire was in the laundry room across the street from us. Now this fire is also across from us----whats going to happened next? Where will the next fire be-intentionally or nonintentionally? Time to move? Any suggestions from the readers? Thanks---stephanie
