Posted July 20

— Fire crews were able to gain control of a small brush fire that sparked near Oregon City Thursday morning.

Clackamas County dispatch officials said the fire was burning in a wilderness area behind Canemah Cemetery along Canemah Bluff.

Clackamas County firefighters said the blaze was about a quarter of an acre in size.

There were no structures threatened in the area but crews said there is a significant amount of grass, trees and brush.

Crews used off-road brush rigs to access the fire via a small dirt trail. Firefighters also accessed it on foot.

Firefighters said they used hydrants in Canemah Park to fill the brush rigs.

The fire was contained around 7 a.m.
