CREEDMOOR, N.C. — Local officials advised some Creedmoor residents to boil water Wednesday after a water main break led to a drop in pressure.

The water line broke at N.C. Highway 56 and Robertson Creek, near the entrance to the Golden Pond subdivision, officials said.

Crews are expected to finish repairing the line by 8 p.m., but officials said residents should boil water as a precaution until water pressure returns to normal and tests show no bacteria have gotten into the system.

The advisory was only for residents east of Robertson Creek, including the Southerbys, Paddington and Golden Pond subdivisions.

Any water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth and making ice should be boiled for one minute to kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water, officials said.
