AtALost What we currently do (i.e., nothing) isn't working so I'd love to see a more pro-active approach in preventing wrecks. I'd be ok with spending my tax dollars on graphic billboards reminding drivers of the potential outcomes of careless behavior.

I'm sorry but we are constantly reminded not to text and drive etc, we shouldnt even have to be reminded! it should be common sense to know that it is dangerous not only for others but yourself! I hear all the time warnings and their are the electronic billboards that say dont text and drive and other warnings!

So the warnings are out there, people just choose not to pay attention to them!

What type of media journalism is this? No wonder I don't subscribe. Worthless.

We often hear of the initial story. I'd love for WRAL to followup with the cause of the accident when possible. Things like "Parent killed while taking eyes off the road to yell at kids" or "Passenger paralyzed due to driver texting" might send the message that many of these aren't unpredictable, unavoidable accidents. People can hear without seeing your face/eyes and if they won't respond, pull over or take an exit to make your point. Most texts are far from critical, but again, if it is an emergency, pull over or take an exit. What we currently do (i.e., nothing) isn't working so I'd love to see a more pro-active approach in preventing wrecks. I'd be ok with spending my tax dollars on graphic billboards reminding drivers of the potential outcomes of careless behavior.

Obamacare: I know where mine are & I continuously use them.

But, if I'm cruising in the right or middle lane @ 5 over the posted limit & I've come up upon other traffic in the my lane & need to move into the left lane to get around the traffic & there's the usual TON of squatters in the left lane (NOT passing but generally being in the way), no signal is necessary cuz they're asleep at the wheel anyway.

"Remember to use your turn signals out there. I see many of you still haven't discovered where those are."

    probably low on signal fluid...
