Raleigh police arrested a teenager on Wednesday in connection to the death of a 13-year-old girl earlier in the week. According to the Raleigh Police Department, Mykia Daniel, an eighth-grader at Ligon Middle School, was shot and killed on Monday in a north Raleigh Apartment. Police said the investigation is ongoing and more information will be released at the appropriate time.

Durham Road in Wake Forest was closed in both directions from Tyler Run Drive to South Wingate Street after a pickup truck veered off the road and struck a utility pole shortly after noon Wednesday, authorities said. 

<b>WAKE FOREST, N.C.</b> — Durham Road in Wake Forest was closed Wednesday from Tyler Run Drive to South Wingate Street after the driver of a pickup truck veered off the road and struck a utility pole, authorities said.

Information on the condition of the driver was not immediately available. The crash happened shortly after noon.

Police were detouring traffic, and drivers were advised to find alternate routes.

Utility crews were working to repair the light pole. The work was expected to take several hours.<br />
