Crash closes Cary Parkway

— A wrong-way driver collided with a tractor-trailer Wednesday afternoon, closing part of Cary Parkway, officials said.

There was no immediate word on injuries.

Police haven't released the identities of either driver.

Southbound lanes of SW Cary Parkway were closed between Waldo Rood Boulevard and MacArthur Drive, while northbound lanes reopened by the early afternoon.

    The car in this accident was a total mess. Hope the driver survived. How come such slow reporting??? This was ongoing all day yesterday.

    Hope everyone's okay. I encountered a wrong-way driver in downtown Durham a few weeks ago. The woman was driving an SUV and talking on her cell. I honked my horn, and she had absolutely no reaction.
