What if the driver is dead, yokel? And it wasn't drug and alcohol related? What updates would you like to see then? Just because you see an article on the news without all the info you'd like, it doesn't mean the rest is necessarily any of your business.

@tominwakeforest -'s scheduled to be replaced next summer. It will be closed approximately 90 days. The 'detour' will either be going around Ligon Mill/Main St, or driving through Rolesville. So yes, a major inconvenience. And then in 2016, the same thing again except for the bridge by Sheetz.

I had "heard" that this bridge is going to be replaced ... is that officially true or just one of those urban wishes? Closure of this bridge (to replace it) is going to be painful for many of us ... let's hope it happens when school is out.

I saw this car last night at Sheetz on a flatbed. Hope everyone is ok as it looked really bad. I am not sure what happened but this bridge was a disaster waiting to happen. It is too narrow and on top of that has pot holes all over it. The amount of traffic that goes over it has to be way over its intended capacity. Looks like the car did a pretty good job of tearing it up even further.

This is a scary bridge to begin with. It's REALLY old and falling apart. They just repaved it, but it already has huge potholes. And it's heavily traveled. And it's right next to a school, so kids have to run across it to get to the neighborhood next door.

The bridge was open for traffic as of 8am this morning, Dec. 8th.
