3 crashes back up traffic on I-95 in Micro

— A series of rear-end collisions shut down northbound Interstate 95 on Saturday evening near Micro and sent one person to the hospital..

Troopers with North Carolina State Highway Patrol said there were three separate crashes involving nine vehicles in the vicinity of exit 102. Five vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, were involved in the first crash, and there were two cars each in the second and third crashes.

One person was taken to WakeMed, but there was no information on that person's condition.

    From exit 97 to 107 is a nasty stretch of interstate. From the big trucks getting off and on, to our awesome out of state visitors to quite a few of the "we don't care" local drivers, I have seen more wrecks in those 10 miles, than any other 10 mile stretch in the state.
