Crack bust yields 10-year sentence for Knightdale woman

— A federal court sentenced a Knightdale woman to more than 10 years in jail and five years probation for the sale of crack cocaine.

Saundra Dean Evans, 37, pled guilty July 8 to aiding and abetting the distribution of more than 50 grams of cocaine base (crack).

Knightdale police found 135 grams of crack cocaine, $76,741 in currency and two stolen semi-automatic firearms in an October 2008 raid of Evans' home.

    sounds like this happened last year in 2007 and she had to wait till July of this year for her court case.

    Confusing article: She pled guilty in July 2008, AND had her home raided in Oct. 2008 (this month)??? Read literally, the Oct. 2008 raid did not end with her guilt plea, and may result in additional penalities. Is that right?
