Clouds, rain to linger across Triangle on Thursday
Light to moderate rain was continuing to fall across many parts of central North Carolina early Thursday as a cold front and area of low pressure push through the state.

Cloudy skies and more precipitation is likely on Thursday as high temperatures only climb into the low 60s during the afternoon, well below normal for mid-April.
"Take the rain gear with you on the way out the door, because we could continue to see some spotty showers throughout the day," WRAL meteorologist Aimee Wilmoth said. "It's definitely going to be a gloomy day with this combination of clouds and cool temperatures."
Warmer air builds in on Friday, as highs climb into the mid-70s, but clouds will stay put, and there is yet another small chance for rain.
More sun is likely on Saturday as highs again hit the mid-to upper-70s.
"Sunday will be a transition day for us as our next system approaches," Wilmoth said. "Highs will be in the upper 60s as clouds build in, and rain will move in from the south and west. It will start after lunchtime and linger throughout the last few hours of the weekend."
Rain will linger on Monday, but bright sunshine and pleasant temperatures in the low and mid-70s will return by the middle of next week.
