Raleigh, N.C. — Enjoy Friday's bright, sunny skies and warm temperatures because rainy, cooler weather is on the way, said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.
"Our temperatures should warm up nice into the low 70s this afternoon," she said. "Enjoy it while its here, because we're about to head under the clouds."
Friday and Saturday should see a high of 72 degrees, thanks to a high pressure system that will eventually zip out into the Atlantic Ocean.
That system will be replaced by a low pressure system and a cold front, bringing the clouds on Saturday and rain on Sunday. The wet weather will hang on through the workweek, bringing rain on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Normal temperatures this time of year are in the upper 70s, but the Triangle will see mid-60s on Sunday and Monday, followed by mid-70s the rest of the week.
