Cookie butter oreos are here, so get them while you can

Posted September 19

All summer, rumors have been swirling about the perfect dessert. It turns out the rumors are true: A representative from Oreo confirmed to Delish that Cookie Butter Oreos hit store shelves as recently as yesterday, Sept. 18.

Cookie Butter Oreos have graham cracker-flavored cookies on the outside, and inside the creme is flavored with cookie butter. Yum!

Instagram user markie_devo had posted a photo showing a package of Cookie Butter Oreos and an accompanying jar of cookie butter back in July, promising the cookies would appear in September. (Geez, where is he getting his inside information from? We want to know!) Cookie butter fans were immediately thrilled.

If you’ve never eaten an entire jar of cookie butter in one sitting, we’ll fill you in on what you’re missing. Cookie butter is a spread, similar to peanut butter or other nut butters, but it’s made with crumbled-up cookies instead of nuts. Sound amazing? Umm, it is.

Target

It’s a match made in heaven as far as we’re concerned - and the online world seems to agree.

One Twitter user is willing to stop by as many store locations as it takes to get their hands on a package (or two!) of these.

“I will drive to Walmart, hyvee, walgreens, and Target just to find the new cookie butter oreo’s ! [sic],” they wrote.

The good news is Target already has Cookie Butter Oreos listed on their website (and oc course you can purchase them other locations as well). But these treats are a limited edition run, so you’re going to want to get your hands - er, mouth? - on them as soon as possible.

At least at Target, Cookie Butter Oreos will only be available for purchase at store locations. So what are you waiting for?

Maybe stock up on some Pumpkin Spice Creme Oreos and Applie Pie Oreos while you’re at it?
