Construction to begin on Chapel Hill roundabout

Chapel Hill, N.C. — Drivers are advised to avoid the intersection of Erwin and Mt. Moriah roads in Chapel Hill starting next week while crews work to install a roundabout at the intersection.
The state Department of Transportation said work will begin Monday, weather permitting, and be completed Aug. 2. The roads will be open during construction, but congestion should be expected.
The single-lane roundabout is one of four being built in Orange County with the goal of improving safety and traffic flow, officials said.
