The tree houses have really started to take shape at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham.
They are part of a massive new exhibit called Hideaway Woods, which should open in the late summer or early fall, I'm told. The exhibit, which sits inside the museum's train tracks with an entrance near the the new Gateway Park, will offer a lot of opportunities for nature play for kids.
There's a stream to play in, tree houses, a spot for young children, trails and more. Construction on the other features, including the Young Explorers space for younger kids and the in-park restroom and changing facility, also are underway.
An opening date should come in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
