We have eight consignment sales this week. The sales typically feature gently used clothing, toys and other gear for babies to teens. This is a great time to stock up on spring and summer clothing. I'm always on the lookout for light jackets, Easter dresses and bathing suits.

This week also includes Designer Consignors, which offers women's clothes.

Here's the schedule:

The long-running consignment sale at First United Methodist Church of Cary, 117 S. Academy St., is open Friday and Saturday. The hours include 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, when the general public can shop early with a $5 donation, which will go to a local family in need. No admission will be charged from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday. Some items are half off on Saturday.
Upscale Resale is at The Centrum at Crossroads, 2484 Walnut St., Cary, this season. This sale features high-end boutique clothing for kids and only specific kinds of toys (like American Girl dolls and accessories; Melissa & Doug; Playmobil; and Legos).

The sale will offer a Couture for the Cure Preview from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, for adults only. The evening benefits the N.C. Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Shoppers can pay a $20 entry fee per person (cash only) to enter the sale at 5 p.m. It's $10 per person to enter the sale at 6 p.m. All entry fees will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
