Thank you to everybody who entered and voted in our Cutest Baby Contest this year! It was our most popular contest yet! I wish we had prizes for every single adorable child in this contest!

I'm excited to announce and congratulate the winners! Thanks again to Midwifery at Women's Health Alliance for sponsoring the contest and offering some great information about pregnancy over the last couple of weeks. (See the box for all of the great information).
And another big thanks to Be True Image Design, Marbles Kids Museum, Empire Eats, The Mad Popper and Stay & Play Snack Cafe for offering some fantastic prizes!

Without further ado ...

Olivia Grace Buchanan, runner-up in the 0 to 12 month category of Go Ask Mom's Cutest Baby Contest

"She loves to listen to music and dance around, watch TV with her daddy, and go to the park with her grandma and uncle," mom tells me. "She enjoys the swing. She also loves to eat spaghetti and enjoys playing with the dog. She is a very happy child, always laughing and smiling, loves to give out kisses!!"

Olivia Grace Buchanan is the runner-up in the 13 to 24-month category. Mom Sara tells me that this cutie has a 3 ½ year old brother named Phillip. "She loves keys and her older brother and she LOVES to eat. She likes it when you kiss her on her head really soft over and over and over again. She’s a smiling, happy, rarely crying little bundle of happiness!"

Violet Herrera is the grand prize winner in the 13 to 24-month category! Here's what her mom, Jeni, tells me about this little one:

"Violet is very special. She was born during a tragic time for our family. Her big brother Miguelangel, who is 3, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia when she was three weeks old. We were actually admitted to Duke hospital when she was only five days old and Miguel only 20 months as they didn't know what was wrong with him. [She was breastfed so] I couldn't leave her. She pretty much grew up at Duke while her brother went through intense chemo so everyone there adores her. She is her brother's BIGGEST cheerleader and

best pal and I truly think God sent her to help Miguel through this. She is bubbly and friendly and loves people from being around them so much! Her sisters, my twin daughters Devyn and Jordan, who are 19 and away at college studying to be physicians assistants adore and miss her. Her sister, my daughter Alex, who is 11, is her entertainer and loves to make her laugh. Miguel and her have developed a very special bond even speaking their own private "Spanglish" language to each other. Miguel adores her and no matter how sick he is or how much pain he's in from his chemo, Violet can always make him smile or laugh! She is an angel to our family and we love her very much and are thrilled our friends and family rallied around her to make her feel special! She deserves it! Thank you and God bless!"

Yarissa Muñoz is the runner-up in the 13 to 24-month category! Mom Yalina Laurent tells me that her little one goes by the nickname "Puchi," which she's had since she was a baby and just kind of stuck. She has two older siblings - Yesenia, 10, and Yandiel, 4. She comes from Dominican and Peruvian heritage, her mom shared, and loves to eat rice and beans.

"Our little Puchi loves to dance and loves her classes at our church," Laurent writes. "She is about to to turn 2 at the end of January. She loves Minnie Mouse and is a definite daddy's girl!"

Congratulations to our adorable winners and their families!
