I am so excited that Go Ask Mom will be hosting a big event at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences next Monday!

Together with our partners at the downtown Raleigh museum, we will be offering some great discounts and activities as part of the museum's Dinosaurs in Motion exhibit, a display of 14 life-size metal dinosaur sculptures that you can actually move yourself.

It's an amazing display with all sorts of lessons about engineering, art, science and physics. You can read all about it here in my earlier post. Go Ask Mom is an exhibit sponsor.

As I've written before, this exhibit is recommended for kids ages 5 and up. The space is loud and dark and there are giant dinosaur skeletons that seem to come alive. I've been waiting for a day when I could leave my three-year-old at home and take my older daughter. That day never came. So finally I took them both last week.

I'm thrilled to report that both of my girls absolutely loved the exhibit. We were in there for about an hour. My younger daughter, who is usually skittish in the museum's permanent dinosaur exhibit, was a little afraid at first, but warmed up pretty quickly (thanks to her big sister being such a great role model).

I really recommend this exhibit. As one of our Facebook fans wrote the other day: "This exhibit is really cool! The kids had a blast getting to move them, and the parents were fascinated by the work the artist put into each piece."

Our event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., July 15. We'll be offering a discount admission to both the Dinosaurs in Motion exhibit and the 3D movies in the WRAL 3D Theater. You'll also get 10 percent off all of your purchases from the Dinosaurs in Motion exhibit store. And, while you're there, your kids can submit their work in the Dinosaur Illustration Contest.
If you plan on going and taking advantage of the discount to the exhibit, you'll need to register ahead of time. When you get there, museum staff will have a list of those who have registered online so you can pay the discounted price.
For all the details and to register so you can get that discounted admission, click here for this EventBrite page. I hope to see you there!
