College prep is ramping up for high school kids and their families. To help them out, A Plus Test Prep will host the Triangle Kickoff to College on Sept. 16 in Durham.

During the free event, families can learn what it takes to get into college, about different careers and how to get involved in the community through service opportunities.

The day also will include breakout sessions, including an SAT/ACT prep session that will cover the basics about admissions tests, advice for preparation and how scores can be used to earn college scholarships.

Representatives from colleges and universities also will attend a college fair and will be available to speak with students about opportunities at their institutions. Student athletes also will have access to recruitment professionals, who can answer questions about eligibility for scholarships.

Finally, representatives from community organizations will be available to discuss volunteer and service opportunities that can help students explore different career paths and build resumes that demonstrate their gifts outside the classroom.

A Plus Test Prep offers all kinds of programs for students to better understand and prepare for standardized tests.
