MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. — The Coast Guard suspended its search late Wednesday for two missing boaters whose vessel capsized Monday about 30 miles south of Cape Lookout National Seashore.

A helicopter crew and a rescue plane crew from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City and a rescue boat crew from Station Fort Macon searched about 3,000 square miles over two days without finding Kim Nguyen of Morehead City and Cung Nguyen of New Bern, authorities said.

A passing fishing boat found a third man, Boa Nguyen, clinging to the hull of the capsized 31-foot Fountain powerboat early Tuesday and pulled him from the water, authorities said. He was taken to Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville for treatment of dehydration and exposure.
