Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — In a lawsuit filed last week, attorneys for accessory maker Coach allege the Sun Super Market in Fayetteville is infringing on the company's copyright by selling knock-off handbags imported from China.
The suit alleges that store owner Mi Kyong Rojas purchased the bags abroad and sold them at her store. She faces a criminal charge of selling counterfeit merchandise.
In addition to asking that Sun Super Market refrain from selling fake Coach products and turn in any existing inventory, Coach has asked for $2 million in damages. The company asked that the case be heard by a jury.
