RALEIGH, N.C. — Sunday's cloudy, drizzly weather makes it "a great day to spend time inside," said WRAL meteorologist Aimee Wilmoth.

Besides the gloomy weather, Sunday's temperatures are also much cooler with an expected high of 64 degrees.

"Our temperature’s taking a big drop compared to yesterday," said WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss. "We’re probably going to see very little sun. Some of us will probably just be cloudy. There may be some patches of drizzle, maybe a couple sprinkles here and there as well."

Warmer temperatures will return Monday with a high near 80 degrees, but the wet pattern will stay put during the first part of the week.

By Thursday, the first day of the North Carolina State Fair, sunshine and cool temperatures should return.
