Clouds to arrive Friday ahead of dreary, rain-filled weekend
Several areas of low pressure will move through central and eastern North Carolina over the next three days, helping produce a wet, dreary weekend that could include up to 3 inches of rain in some spots.

Much of the Triangle will be cloudy but dry on the final day of the work week, but more substantial precipitation will arrive by early in the day Saturday, WRAL meteorologist Aimee Wilmoth said.
"We won't see much sun on Friday if we see any at all, but we should stay pretty dry for the most part," she said. "A sprinkle or two is possible Friday night, and we'll see more moderate rain arrive on Saturday."
Showers and storms are possible throughout the day Saturday, with areas in the southern Triangle having a better chance for storms.
The pattern will be similar on Sunday, and by the time the bulk of the rain moves out, parts of the southern and western Triangle could see 2 to 3 inches of rain. Areas to the north and east will see less rain, Wilmoth said.
Highs over the weekend will stay in the mid-and upper-70s thanks to the clouds.
Light showers are possible again on Monday, but sunshine will arrive in the area again by the middle of the week. High temperatures will remain in the mid-80s.
