If you were planning on taking a dip at the city pool or, if you're a parent, wearing your kids out during an intensive splash session, there will be some closures over the next few months for regular maintenance.

Pullen Aquatic Center is closed through Sept. 7. It will reopen Sept. 8 on the winter schedule.

Millbrook Pool is closed through Sept. 25. It will reopen Sept. 26 on the winter schedule.

Optimist Pool's winter hours begin Sept. 8. It will be closed from Sept. 26 to Oct. 30, reopening Oct. 31.

And Buffaloe Road Aquatic Center, with its water slide, vortex, sprayground and lazy river, will be closed from Oct. 24 to Nov. 20, reopening Nov. 21.

Raleigh's aquatics page has details about the hours, schedules and locations. Our public pools database lists pools around the region.
