Posted June 2, 2008

— Two people have been charged with a candy store robbery in which a clerk was slashed across her face, police said.

Jason Powell, 18, and Tysheem Rashad DuBose, 21, have been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injuries.

A knife-wielding man robbed Jim’s Candy Corner, at 3311 Bragg Blvd., slashing the 79-year-old clerk across her face after she had handed over money to the robber, police said. The man fled in a waiting car, police said.

A Fayetteville police officer later stopped a car matching the description of the getaway car and found the clerk's credit card, two knives and other evidence, police said.

The clerk required several stitches and staples for her injuries, police said.

Sandollar, what's even worse is that the 79 year old is paying taxes, and thus supporting these two criminals while they're in jail. $30K per inmate per year...

There is a comparison here. Do you see it? 79 year old WORKING in candy store to supplement income. Young heartless people not willing to work... STEALING.
    No probabtion. Tough Judge.

"...slashing the 79-year-old clerk across her face after she had handed over money to the robber"

Nothing but animals. Praying they cage them for a good long time for this senseless act upon this elderly woman.

    Praying mightily for her.

    God bless.

Rear end wipes. They deserve no bonds, no probations.

WRAL has been polling people for their opinions about pet sterilization for the last few days. I hope these two animals are not allowed to produce any (or more) offspring.

Let's not jump to conclusions. Maybe the knife slipped out of the guy's hands as he was reaching for his wallet. Or maybe the suspects here are actually the victims... you know, tough family life, etc.

Regardless, whatever problems these guys may have are nothing that a good dose of supervised probation can't fix. Maybe Durham can provide some probation officers if Fayetteville's are too busy..

I'll pray for them.....pray that they fry in the electric chair. How weak is that - slashing a 79yr old woman in the face!?

scubagirl, don't feel too bad, my comment this morning didn't make it either and all I did was say what punishment they deserved.

  • Scubagirl Jun 2, 2008

guess my comment this morning didn't make it since I said they knew exactly what they were doing. Guess slashing a 79yo makes them feel good.
What sick individuals they are. Do not pass go, do not collect anything but more time on your sentence.
